What is a Student pass?
It’s a travel card that gives students discounted fares on:
- Bus tickets
- Tram tickets
- Multi-modal tickets (bus, train and tram)
What ticket types are available?
- Direct Debit tickets
- 4-week tickets
- Term tickets
If you don’t travel regularly, you can use Swift Go for flexible pay-as-you-go travel.
How can I find out if I'm eligible?
- Aged 18 or over and in full-time education
- Aged 16 to 18 but not eligible for a 16–18 photocard
- You’ll need to provide proof of full-time study, such as a letter from your college or university that shows your course end date. NUS cards or student union cards are not accepted.
How do I get a Student pass?
- Use the ticket finder to find the best ticket for your journey.
- Select your mode of transport, then choose ‘Student 18+’ under traveller type.
- Click ‘Buy on Swift’.
- Select Create Account under the new customer section.
- Enter your education details and upload your proof of full-time study. If your evidence provided doesn't have your course end date, this will cause delays in receiving your tickets. For more information about how to prove you are a student, please visit our webpage.
- Add your personal details, upload a photo, and set up your email and password.
Your ticket start date must be at least 7 days in advance. Once complete, your Swift student card will be posted to you and should arrive within 5 working days.
