About Swift
Swift is the way to pay for public transport in the West Midlands.
It’s a smartcard you use instead of paper tickets, making travel quicker and easier.
You can load season tickets or Pay As You Go credit onto a Swift card.
Types of Swift card
Depending on how and when you travel, there are different Swift cards you can choose from:
Choose the Swift card that suits how you travel:
- Swift Photocard – For adult, child and student tickets.
- Swift Go – Just tap and go! It automatically calculates the best fare for your bus and tram travel.
- Pay As You Go Swift Card – Top it up with credit and use it instead of cash to pay for tickets on the bus or tram.

Use a Swift or Metro ticket machine - get pay as you go and adult photocard only (you can only top up child cards and 16-18 cards here).

Get a Swift Account

You can use your Swift account to:
- Renew your ticket
