Sprint
Solihull Station
Starts 20 January 2025 until Ongoing
Last updated: 14 January 2025
What’s happening?
Sprint is a bus priority corridor that will link Walsall with the centre of Birmingham, Solihull and Birmingham Airport - joining the A34 with the A45 to create one continuous bus route.
Sprint will bring benefits for all bus passengers: providing more reliable, regular and predictable journey times, connecting our region and protecting our environment too.
A milestone project, Sprint is being delivered by Transport for West Midlands and forms part of the region-wide ambition to improve the public transport experience.
Solihull Station
Works to install new bus shelters outside Solihull Station will start on Monday 20 January 2025 with a partial closure to some of the pavement.
From Monday 24 February some trees will need to be removed in the Station Approach area with some changes for pedestrian access but buses and traffic will be able to run normally outside of the rail station.
From Monday 17 March 2025 for approximately 4 weeks, there will be changes to the road layout around Solihull station.
Station Approach will run one way, with access for traffic from Streetsbrook Road only.
Traffic approaching the rail station from Blossomfield Road will be diverted around Homer Road Roundabout.
Access to the station will be maintained but journeys may take longer than usual.
Please allow more time for your journey and consider alternative routes
Travelling by bus?
Some bus routes will be slightly diverted due to the one-way system and some bus stops will also be moved during these works – please allow more time for your journey.
We will include further information about these changes on this webpage and at bus stops when changes take place.
